The traffic around Old Trafford on match days invites an early start – & parking a little way away.
Cue….Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

A healthy cluster of 5 bar-cum-pubs (not sure about all these “cum” refernces, but we’ll press on) lie in wait – the jewel in the crown being the Marble Beer House, unsurprisingly. The walk to OT is ~1 1/2 miles from here.
Most of the 5 listed fall into the converted shop category – a bit odd!

The succinctly-titled “Bar” is the most pubby inside – & has some Marble beer. “Electrik”, almost inevitably, has a few consonants the wrong way round in its wacky typeface. A cool place owned by some noted (apparently) Manc DJ’s. Making waves on the local beer front, too.

Dulcimer, on the other hand, has a more “folky” vibe. (Does folk music do vibes? Discuss.)

That epitome of Urban Cool, Thwaites beer, appears in both. Don’t worry, there are plenty of others to choose from as well.
